Ringo Honored with Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
9 February 2010
February 9 – Beatles band mate and George’s close friend Ringo Starr received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame yesterday in a beautiful evening ceremony. “It’s cool to get one at night,” said Ringo. “Where I live, the stars come out at night.”
With his star placed outside of the iconic Capitol Records building near the stars of George and John, Ringo said of his time with the Beatles “They looked out for me and I looked out for them, and we all supported each other. It was really beautiful to be part of that. And besides that, we made some great records.”
In addition to their time together in the Beatles, Ringo and George collaborated on a multiple number of songs and albums together including co-writing Ringo’s #1 hit song “Photograph,” which Ringo performed as a moving tribute during Concert For George.
In addition to his wife Barbara Bach, Ringo was joined by Joe Walsh, Ben Harper, Don Was, David Lynch and hundreds of fans.
