Three Film Nominations For George Harrison: Living In The Material World Documentary

In the heat of the awards season, and following the recent Critics Choice Award for Best Documentary Feature, George Harrison: Living in the Material World has been honored with three additional prestigious nominations. The film has been nominated by British Academy Film Awards / BAFTA in the Best Documentary Category, director Martin Scorsese has been nominated by the Director’s Guild of America (DGA) for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentaries, and the film’s editor David Tedeschi has been nominated by the American Cinema Editors (ACE) in the Best Edited Documentary category.
“Our nominees represent the best in documentary filmmaking,” said Directors Guild of America President Taylor Hackford. “The remarkable documentaries made by this year’s nominees take audiences on a journey, whether casting light on injustice or exploring the human condition in all of its nuance, cruelty, creativity and triumph.”
Director’s Guild of America – The DGA winners will be announced at the 64th Annual DGA Awards Dinner on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in Los Angeles.
BAFTAs – This is the inaugural year for the Best Documentary Category at the Orange British Academy Film Awards, and the winner will be announced during the ceremony on Sunday 12th February.
The American Cinema Editors – The Eddie Awards will be announced February 18 at ceremonies in Beverly Hills.
